Description

New England Organics is a leading provider of organic waste management and recycling services dedicated to assisting our Customers in achieving their sustainability goals by optimizing the use of their organic wastes and byproducts. We are seeking a Director of Operations who will join our leadership team and be responsible for oversight of daily operations of the Division.   Among other duties, the right candidate will be responsible for developing our Operations staff, leading our efforts to deliver excellent Customer service, and ensuring all operations meet or exceed performance targets. The right candidate will be able to select, supervise and train staff, optimize use of company assets and resources, and maintain consistency in management of our expanding Operations.   Direct experience with environmental services, waste industry, water & wastewater process, composting, soils & agriculture, beneficial use of residuals, and applicable regulatory framework is essential.

 

This position is based in our Portland, Maine headquarters, and must be able to travel throughout the northeast.

 

Job Requirements:

• 5+ years direct operations experience
• Experienced manager & supervisor
• Superior writing and communication skills
• Proficiency in computer skills
• Knowledge of environmental services and waste industry
• Proven work ethic
• Devoted to continuous improvement, both personal and in the workplace
• Strong organizational skills
• Demonstrated team builder
• Business-minded environmentalist committed to Resource Optimization

 

Education Requirements:

4 year BS or BA degree in relevant area   or equivalent education and work experience
