WATER RECLAMATION PLANT MANAGER

Pay Rate: $67,225 - $92,670 annually
Provo City is looking for a Water Reclamation Plant Manager to direct all plant functions. Description: This position performs the following duties: direct plant activities, operations, maintenance, and programs, including regulatory compliance (EPA 40 CFR Part 403 and State); oversee permit programs; establish efficient processes; resolve complex operational issues; collaborate on process control strategies; oversee capital improvements; ensure inspection of processes and equipment; ensure proper use of SCADA system and integration; ensure inspection of industrial users; coordinate with vendors; evaluate quotes and bids; manage contracts; supervise, schedule, evaluate, plan, and coordinate employees work; make staffing decisions; identify, evaluate, and resolve personnel concerns; enact discipline and/or rewards, as needed; direct training and development; ensure personnel policy compliance; manage field operation information; optimize division resources and coordinate City-wide; develop and manage safety programs; coordinate applicable risk management issues; develop and manage unit budget; oversee purchasing, expenditures, invoicing, and payments; propose and approve all contract specifications and purchases; develop, submit for review, and implement service programs, policies, procedures, and goals; participate on boards and committees, and in groups; ensure record maintenance; review subordinates work records; prepare records and reports; review, edit, approve, and submit compliance reports; maintain inventory; may perform duties of lower-level positions; perform other related duties as required
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Water Management, Environment Studies, or related field and six years of certified water operator experience, two years of which must have been as a manager or supervisor OR an equivalent combination of job-related education and experience as allowed by the State of Utah for unrestricted wastewater operator certification [up to two years of additional related education may be substituted for an equivalent amount of operating experience. Additional education may be substituted for non-supervisory experience.] Science or engineering background preferred. A valid, lawful Commercial Driver's License and Utah Unrestricted Grade IV Wastewater Systems Operator Certification are required.
