The City of Lee’s Summit is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Utilities Engineer / Senior Staff Engineer in the Water Utilities Department.
The Utilities Engineer works under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Engineering Services for Water Utilities. This position represents the interests of the Department through interactions with the Public Works Engineering Division, engineering consultants, project related contractors, other water and sewer utilities, and developers. This position is responsible for asset management, coordinating and monitoring capital improvement projects, performing periodic plan reviews, collects and evaluates data regarding the water and wastewater systems, project management, provides engineering support to utility operations, prepares and delivers public presentations and may interact with elected and appointed officials, city staff, utility customers and other interested parties.
Salary range is $66,975-$83,719 DOQ and includes an excellent benefit package. Minimum requirements include:
- Graduation from an ABET accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering or closely related field.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer. Licensed in the State of Missouri within one year of hire.
- Considerable experience with five years’ experience in engineering with a focus on water and wastewater projects/services
- A valid state driver’s license
