The Water/Wastewater Technician is responsible for monitoring the City's water and wastewater systems in compliance with relevant government regulations. This position conducts inspections, operates and maintains water and wastewater monitoring equipment, maintains records, and prepares reports. The City is looking to fill two vacancies, one position will reside in the pretreatment program section and the other will reside in the water quality section of the Environmental Programs Division.
The ideal candidates for these positions will have excellent oral and written communication skills with a customer service orientation; outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills enabling them to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and members of the public; and strong problem solving and analytical abilities to research and resolve complex problems.
High school diploma or recognized equivalent, including or supplemented by technical courses or training in chemistry, mathematics, environmental engineering, computer operations, and other subjects applicable to water and wastewater quality control.
One year of experience related to water quality, industrial wastewater pretreatment, or related work experience. Two years of applicable college education may be substituted for one year of experience.
Salary: $5,158 to $6,269 Monthly
