The City of St. Helens is seeking applications for the position of Pretreatment Coordinator for the Wastewater Treatment Plant. This position is responsible for conducting and implementing requirements of the City's industrial pretreatment program in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations to control waste water discharges of industrial users of the City sewerage system. Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school education or GED equivalent, supplemented by three (3) years post-secondary college or technical training in biology, environmental science, chemistry, or a closely related field; and
- Three (3) years of experience in wastewater treatment and collections; or
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Experience with pretreatment programs and industrial inspections.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of laboratory procedures and practices;
- Ability to work safely; and
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
Salary: The position is full-time and offers a base wage scale of $4,868 (Step 1) to $5,918 (Step 5) per month. The City also provides an excellent benefits package. This is a union covered position.
