Graduate Engineer A:

  • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job.

 

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • None.

 

Graduate Engineer B:

  • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a related field, plus two (2) years of experience in engineering.

 

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • Texas: Engineer – In Training Certification.

 

Engineer A:

  • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job, plus four (4) years engineering experience acquired before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer

 

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas; or if currently licensed in another state, must have the ability to obtain a Texas P.E. license within six (6) months of employment.

 

Position Overview and Duties:

  • Wastewater Collection & Decentralized Reclaimed Water System Planning – Hydraulic modeling, alternative analysis, troubleshooting, planning, prioritization of infrastructure projects.
  • Water Demand and Wastewater Flow Forecasts (potable/non-potable, indoor/outdoor, and spatial aspects) for Infrastructure Planning related to Water, Reclaimed Water, Wastewater, and Biosolids.
  • GIS Analysis – Use GIS for system analysis and mapping. Integrate AW databases with hydraulic models and transportation project mapping to prepare and maintain planning databases.
  • Long Range Plan – Perform Planning Analysis and prepare planning documents for future infrastructure.
  • Capacity Planning for Facilities (Wastewater Treatment Plants, Lift Stations, Water and Reclaimed Water Pump Stations & Reservoirs).
  • Assisting with Hydraulic Model Updates for Wastewater and Water Modeling team.

 

This position will be filled at one of the following levels depending upon candidate qualifications:

  • Graduate Engineer A: $31.65 to $39.56 per hour
  • Graduate Engineer B: $32.89 to $41.93 per hour
  • Engineer A: $34.86 to $44.45 per hour

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering.
  • Experience with Wastewater Collection System and/or Water Distribution analysis and modeling.
  • Experience with Wastewater Collection and/or Water Distribution Systems Related Planning and Analysis.
  • Strong understanding and comprehension of fluid hydraulics, pumping, and treatment processes as they relate to wastewater system analysis.
  • Strong technical writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with large data sets.
  • Experience with GIS.
  • Ability to travel to more than one work location.
