Description:
San Miguel Community Services District is an unincorporated community in the County of San Luis Obispo, located 7 miles north of the City of Paso Robles, CA. 
                                                                                                                                                           
Deadline for Employment Applications: 
This recruitment will remain open for each position until filled or otherwise closed by the San Miguel Community Service District. The District may close recruitment at any time for any reason.

Work Schedule:
Field Operator position is a full-time position on a 9-80 schedule
WWTF Operator position is a full-time position on a 40-hour offset schedule
 
These positions are also required to participate in a scheduled on-call rotation. Personnel who are on-call are required to be within 30 minutes of the District and remain unimpaired.
 
Minimum State Water Resources Control Board Certification Requirements:
Field Operator
            Water Distribution Grade 1, Water Treatment Grade 1, Wastewater Treatment Grade 1
(applicants who have passed the written test for the Wastewater Treatment Grade 1 but have not met the time requirement will be considered)
 
WWTF Operator
            Wastewater Treatment Grade 2, Water Distribution Grade 1
(applicants who have passed the written test for the Wastewater Treatment Grade 2 but have not met the time requirement will be considered)
 
Copies of Operator Certificates issued by State of California must be included with job application packet.  Professional resumes may also be included with a completed job application.
 
A valid California Class C driver’s license is required at time of hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
(A Class “A” license with Airbrake endorsement is highly desirable)
 
Education: High School diploma or equivalent; Courses in water, wastewater, reclaimed water, engineering, biology, chemistry or related fields are desirable.

Experience: 
Field Operator: A minimum of two years’ experience laying pipe and related materials. Working knowledge of water and wastewater operations and maintenance.
 
WWTF Operator: A minimum of two years’ experience working in operation and maintenance in a grade 2 (or above) water or wastewater treatment plant
 
Both positions:
Demonstrated comprehension of California and Federal OSHA requirements and their application; ability to safely operate all construction related vehicles and equipment; ability to effectively utilize a personal computer/tablet, peripherals and software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Share point; proven ability to organize and manage competing priorities; other related training in treatment plant maintenance, well maintenance, tank maintenance and infrastructure maintenance is desirable. Experience in, and knowledge of, recycled water systems is desirable.
 
Compensation:
Starting wage will be based on certification and experience.
