The Maintenance Manager will direct, manage, supervise, and coordinate the activities and operations of the Maintenance Division, one of three Divisions within the Operations Department. The Maintenance Manager formulates and implements operations/maintenance policies and procedures within administrative guidelines; oversees preventive/predictive maintenance planning, scheduling and repair; coordinates assigned activities with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies; and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Director of Operations.

Representative Duties
Immediate Impact: The successful candidate will be given the following objectives upon hire:


  • Become familiar with all core functional areas including contracts, programs and personnel.


  • Learn about the current state of the Asset Management program development and immediately provide input and oversight to help steer the direction of the program.


  • Review current infrastructure, equipment and fleet maintenance programs and suggest changes to optimize or improve productivity and system reliability.


  • Demonstrate proficiency in communication orally and in writing to subordinates, peers, senior management and the Board of Directors.


  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively adjust written and oral communication style and level of technical detail based on the specific intended audience.

  • Is efficient and organized, with the ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions and answer both customer and staff inquiries, all while maintaining a pleasant, professional demeanor.


  • Possesses a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in science or business related fields. *In lieu of degree, 7 years managerial experience will be accepted.


  • Has 7 years of increasingly responsible experience in utility related maintenance, operation and construction such as: water pumping and distribution systems, water/wastewater treatment plant maintenance, collection system/lift stations maintenance, water booster pump/well maintenance, mechanical equipment maintenance and municipal infrastructure construction; including four years of administrative and supervisory responsibility.


  • Possession of a California Water Environment Association certification in Collection Systems Maintenance is desirable.


  • Possession of a State of California Certification in Water or Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations is desirable.


  • Possession a valid class C California driver's license.

Salary: $124,010 to $162,656 Annually
