CMSA, located in San Rafael, CA, operates the largest wastewater agency in Marin County. CMSA treats wastewater and biosolids collected from households and businesses in central Marin County and operates a recycled water facility and an innovative organic waste-to-energy facility. Significant projects are currently in planning and design to expand CMSA’s power delivery program to produce sufficient renewable power to supply all of the facility’s energy needs, and export excess renewable power into the grid.
Under direction of the Technical Services Manager, the Associate Engineer performs engineering, project management, construction management, and other technical services for the Agency; makes calculations, performs design work, administers contracts, maintains records, conducts studies regarding capital projects and treatment facility processes, performs related work as required, and may have program management responsibilities. The position requires frequent contact with engineers, consultants, contractors, and other agencies.
Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year ABET-accredited college with major coursework in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering. Graduate degree in Environmental/Civil Engineering desirable. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California is required. Minimum of four (4) years increasingly responsible professional engineering experience, including at least one (1) year of design and project leadership responsibilities, is required. Experience in a water, wastewater, or environmental related field is highly desirable.
$122,928— $149,419 annually plus excellent benefits
