The Manager of Water & Compliance is responsible for supervisory and administrative work in administering operations of the water production, distribution and treatment systems. The position is also responsible for all FERC, WDNR, and EPA, etc. compliance requirements for water, hydro and generation facilities.

Salary: $75,000.00 - $95.00 (Yearly Salary)

Work involves responsibility for planning, organizing, budgeting, long and short term planning, project management, and directing the operations and activities involved in the production, distribution and treatment of water.  Work includes assisting in the formulation of programs and policies to insure a safe and adequate water supply.  Supervision is exercised over all water department employees.  Work is performed with considerable latitude for independent judgment and action within established procedure and is reviewed by the Director of Operations through conferences and reports.


Required Experience

Considerable experience in the field of water distribution systems; including considerable supervisory experience; considerable experience and understanding of safety and compliance issues; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, abilities and skills. 

Special Knowledge

Thorough knowledge of the installation, maintenance and repair of water mains, services and related work.

Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions associated with water distribution operations.

Thorough knowledge of the modern management and engineering principles and practices of water production, distribution and treatment systems, and hydroelectric operations.

Thorough knowledge of state and federal water utility regulations and the ability to learn or already possess a strong knowledge in Federal and State Regulatory Regulations related to hydro generation FERC License and Gas Turbine air permitting.

Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications and establishing professional networks.
