Seeking a highly skilled wastewater resources leader that will under limited supervision, leads and develops staff to attain optimal operation and maintenance of the City’s Wastewater Treatment Facilities to maintain effective cost control and regulatory compliance. Develops the Wastewater Treatment Facilities budget, reviews facility performance and evaluates data to make recommendations on optimizing facility performance. Exercises considerable initiative and judgment in decision making and applying standards to a variety of work situations. Interacts with senior executives, the media, citizens, regulatory agencies, other governments, contractors and suppliers to effectively support operations. Utilizes asset management to develop budget recommendations, develop construction projects and monitor system performance. Successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, civil or mechanical engineering or closely related field from an accredited university; with extensive experience in the operation of water and wastewater treatment plant operations and considerable supervisory experience. Grade IV Wastewater certificate, as issued by the State of NC desired or attainable. Driver’s license valid in the State of NC and good driving record required.
Salary range $58,003 - $76,333. Salary commensurate with qualifications, plus excellent benefits including acceptance of qualified transferred sick leave from other NC governmental entities and leave accrual rates based upon approved aggregate years of NC government qualified service.
