The City of Benicia (29,000 residents) is actively recruiting a Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Superintendent. The WTP Superintendent is a T4 or T5 licensed operator responsible for the City's water supply and serves as the Chief Operator. The City obtains its water from three sources and provides treatment at a 24 hour per day staffed conventional WTP. Under the general direction of the Deputy Public Works Director – Utilities Manager, the incumbent will provide leadership and supervision to ten operators, maintenance technologists, and staff. Please note that in order to be eligible for this position, candidates must be in possession of a minimum Grade IV Water Treatment Plant Operator Certificate with the State of California.
Under general direction, supervises and manages the operation and maintenance of the Water Treatment Plant and performs related work as required.
