The City of Winchester is currently recruiting for the position of full-time Electrician in the Water and Wastewater divisions.

Duties for this position include Extensive experience with 3-phase, 4,160 VAC, and 12.3KW VAC power supply and distribution including natural gas/diesel powered generator systems, industrial troubleshooting experience to assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand, power, and precision measuring tools. Possess the ability to diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Possess the ability to connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components and install electronic equipment. Responsible for observing and following all safety regulations with required PPE. Other duties may also be assigned. Must be in possession of a valid and appropriate driver's license, a Virginia Master Electrician Certification and Arc Flash training certification in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR-1910; Successful completion of Industrial Electricity I, II, & III and two additional classes from the LFCC Work Force Solutions Training Certificate Program; NIMS IS-803 certificate of completion; Completion of five hours per year VML Training. Compliant with requirements set forth in the Public Utilities Electrician I, II & III Career Development Plan.
