The Maintenance Manager is a division level manager reporting to the Resource Recovery Services Director. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the management and oversight of the Maintenance Division, a key workgroup that provides essential maintenance and repair support for Operations and Engineering and overall maintenance services at the District, and ongoing work programs and special projects related to recycled water and wastewater resource recovery, facility maintenance and repair operations. This position also provides support to policy development.
The Maintenance Manager will have several operational priorities such as focusing on evaluating staffing requirements and related workload allocation in connection with our SCADA system, and our field maintenance model. This position will be heavily involved in the upcoming negotiations for the street sweeping contract that is scheduled for renewal in June 2021.
The successful candidate will have at least seven (7) years of experience in secondary wastewater treatment plant maintenance with at least four of those years in a supervisory or management role within a facility of comparable size and complexity to that of Delta Diablo. Living in close proximity to District to ensure ability to respond and/or report to duty within a reasonable period of time in emergency situations which may occur after hours, on weekends, and/or holidays is highly desirable. An AA/AS degree (or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training) in a related field is required. A California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Grade IV Mechanical Technologist or Electrical Instrumentation Technologist certification must be obtained prior to the completion of probationary period. The Self-contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) certification is not currently required for this position.
