We are seeking an individual for a Regular position as a Water System Operator (SH) in the Electric & Water Production Division.

Job Purpose:

Visually monitors SCADA System to determine condition of water production system. Adds and removes high service and well pumps as necessary to maintain system balance and permit required maintenance. Maintains log of system usage and production.

Primary Functions:

        • Insure the quality of water throughout the distribution system meets or exceeds all regulatory requirements and the expectations of our customers.

        • Identify problems and coordinate with Water Production Maintenance.

        • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on the SCADA System computers and communications equipment.

        • Coordinate activities with both internal and external customers as required.

        • Respond to emergency or unusual conditions with minimum supervision.

        • Assist with planned and unplanned system maintenance.

        • Perform other related duties as assigned.

        • Take water distribution bacteriological and chlorine residual samples.

Minimum of five (5) years of experience. Extensive specialized training (equivalent to 2 years college).

  • Must have valid State of Florida Class A public drinking water plant operator certification. (required by law)
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to diagnose problems.
  • Able to work extended hours when required
  • Valid State of Florida Drivers License
