Under close supervision, performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled construction, repair and maintenance work of moderate difficulty; and to do other related work as required in the maintenance of the City's water facilities. Incumbents typically work under the supervision of a Water Utility Foreman or Water Technician II or III.
Salary: $42,276 to $59,196 Annually
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The equivalent of a High School diploma; experience in general construction and maintenance work and familiarity with materials and techniques used in carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, or water systems repair and maintenance are desirable but not required.
Possession of a valid California Driver License, Class C or higher, by date of appointment; possession of a valid Class B Driver License will be required with Air Brake Certification within six (6) months of appointment.
Water Distribution Operator Grade 1 (D1) Certification will be required within twelve (12) months of appointment; probationary period is six (6) months per Personnel Rules.
