Central San, a progressive public utility, is seeking a Maintenance Planner. This position will support the maintenance function of the Operations Department by planning and assembling work plans for various work groups. Duties will include organizing, planning, and assisting in scheduling all necessary resources to accomplish maintenance activities at the treatment plant and pumping stations.

Education and Experience:

Five years of experience maintaining and repairing equipment specific to water, wastewater, or an industrial facility, which included the performance of preventative maintenance checks and the servicing and monitoring of equipment to ensure regulatory compliance.

Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized applicable coursework such as completion of an apprenticeship or other qualified training programs such as Industrial Technology courses.


Possession of a valid California Driver’s License. A valid out of state driver’s license will be accepted during the application process. Must possess a valid California Driver’s License within 90 days of appointment.

Special Physical Requirement:

Must be able to wear respiratory protection device for dust protection and while painting and using certain chemicals and solvents. May be required to enter confined space. Must be able to wear S.C.B.A. and perform job duties while wearing protective equipment and S.C.B.A. weighing 32 pounds.
