Description

The Plant Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for water quality control and/or wastewater treatment plants, sewer and storm lift stations, and associated facilities; and to perform a variety of technical tasks related to assigned area of responsibility.

Salary: $89,909.64 - $109,277.40 Annually

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

Three years of increasingly responsible experience performing repair and maintenance of water or wastewater treatment facilities and equipment including treatment plant, storm and sewer lift stations including one year providing supervision over assigned personnel.

Training:

Equivalent to an Associate's degree from an accredited college with major course work in business administration, public administration or related field.

License or Certificate:

Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid California driver's license.

Possession of a Grade IV Mechanical Technologist issued by the California Water Environment Association (CWEA).

Possession of a valid Grade IV Wastewater Treatment Plant Operation certificate issued by the California State Water Resources Control Board is desirable.

When assigned to a treatment plant facility

Possession of a Qualified Applicator Certificate issued by California State Department of Pesticide Regulation Program within one year of appointment.

When assigned to Collections System Maintenance

Possession of a Grade III Collections System Maintenance Technologist Certificate issued by the California Water Environment Association (CWEA)

Possession of a Grade IV Collections System Maintenance Technologist Certificate issued by the California Water Environment Association (CWEA).

Failure to obtain any of the required licenses/certificates within the prescribed time will result in release from probation or termination.

Additional Requirements:

Must be a minimum 18 years of age at time of application.

During the course of employment, may be required to attend and successfully complete training courses as needed to perform assigned duties, such as First Aid and CPR.
