Las Virgenes Municipal Water District is current seeking a Water Quality Supervisor. The Water Quality Supervisor plans, coordinates, and supervises the operations of the laboratory used to monitor wastewater and water systems. A Water Quality Supervisor acts as the District liaison, a technical advisor, and performs special projects as needed. The Water Quality Supervisor oversees an on-site, state-certified water quality laboratory that conducts testing to assure that all potable and recycled water served by LVMWD meets stringent state and federal health standards. The laboratory also monitors water quality in Malibu Creek, as part of the District’s commitment to watershed stewardship.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES:
Any combination of training and experience, which demonstrates attainment of the required knowledge and ability to perform the required work (with reasonable accommodation, if needed), typically:
EDUCATION: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience performing chemical analyses and tests, preferably including one (1) year of experience in a water reclamation plant or potable water treatment plant.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
A Grade III Certification as a Laboratory Analyst issued by the California Water Environment Association (CWEA) is required.
