Under general supervision, this position will provide overall management of the City's Industrial/Categorical Pretreatment rogram, ensuring environmental compliance with established federal, state and local regulatory standards regarding City Wastewater Permit and Clean Water Act regulations. The employee in this classification exercises considerable independent standards. The successful candidate will evaluate and issue environmental permits to new, proposed,and existing industrial/categorical businesses. The program consists of discharges from multiple jurisdictions. Some essential duties include but are not limited to: Administer City Code of Ordinances and Industrial/Categorical Federal and State of Missouri Pretreatment rules and regulations, schedules, collects and/or oversees environmental samples at various industrial userdata and provides reports to operations staff and supervisors; Coordinates and works closely with Laboratory Supervisor, Operations Supervisor and Compliance Technician. Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, environmental Sciences, Biology, or strongly related field preferred, supplemented by three (3) to four (4) years of progressively skilled and knowledgeable experience in pre-treatment, wastewater and sewer enfironmental programs within a similar government agency; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
