The Town of Castle Rock has an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Wastewater Collection System Operator to join the Castle Rock Water Department. Under general supervision, performs a variety of specialized lead and maintenance functions primarily related to wastewater collection at an advanced level in the operation, construction, repair, maintenance and replacement of the Town’s water, sewer and stormwater lines, facilities and infrastructure. Employees in this classification perform complex work requiring a broad technical expertise including performing as a job site lead, responsible for directing work, ensuring safety of the job site, and assuring appropriate staff, equipment and materials for the job or specific projects. Performs duties in a manner consistent with the stated values of the organization.
This position is part of the Town’s snow removal program. This will include scheduled on-call responsibilities through the winter months to remove snow using a 4-wheel drive pickup and/or heavy equipment. Snow removal shifts are typically 12 hours.
Qualifications generally a High School graduate or G.E.D.; supplemented by four (4) years previous experience that includes construction and repair of underground facilities and operation of heavy equipment; or any equivalent combination. A State of Colorado - Class 3 Operator Certification in Wastewater Collection is required or ability to obtain within 1 year; and preferred Class 1 in non-assigned discipline and/or backflow certification. A Certified competent person training is required or ability to obtain within one year. A valid Colorado Class A CDL driver’s license with Tank Vehicle endorsement is required, or ability to obtain within 6 months. Successful candidate must satisfactorily complete a driving record check, drug screening and criminal background check prior to commencing employment.
