The City of Zanesville is accepting applications for the position of Water Superintendent. The qualified candidate shall direct the operations, maintenance, and laboratory of the Water Treatment Plant facilities and the operations and maintenance of the water treatment & distribution systems in accordance with OEPA requirements. The superintendent will be responsible for the oversight of 32 employees and an estimated annual operating budget of $5.5 million. Must possess the necessary knowledge to properly operate and maintain a water treatment plant and knowledge and experience in distribution system maintenance, repairs, and operations. Applicants should have a sound knowledge of management principles, highly developed people skills, and display superior written and oral communication skills.
Applicants must possess a minimum of a high school diploma (or GED or equivalent); ten years’ experience in the water treatment and distribution processes, including management of others and OEPA reporting requirements. Possession of a Class III State of Ohio water supply operator’s certificate. Possession of a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
40 hour workweek and must be available to work overtime. Benefits package includes: health, dental, vision, life insurance, continuing education reimbursement, professional development programs, and employee retirement program. Pay is $32.69.
