Minimum Qualifications
Graduate Engineer A:
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
  • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job.
 
Licenses and Certifications Required:
  • None
 
 
Graduate Engineer B:
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
  • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a related field, plus two (2) years of experience in engineering.
 
Licenses and Certifications Required:
  • Texas: Engineer – In Training Certification.
 
 
Engineer A:
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
  • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job, plus four (4) years of engineering experience acquired before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.
 
Licenses and Certifications Required:
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas; or if currently licensed in another state, must have the ability to obtain a Texas P.E. license within six (6) months of employment.
 
 
Engineer B:
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
  • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to engineering, plus six (6) years of experience in engineering acquired before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.
 
Licenses and Certifications Required:
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas; or if currently licensed in another state, must have the ability to obtain a Texas P.E. license within six (6) months of employment.
 
 
Engineer C:
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
  • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job, plus eight (8) years of engineering experience acquired before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.
 
Licenses and Certifications Required:
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas; or if currently licensed in another state, must have the ability to obtain a Texas P.E. license within six (6) months of employment.
 
 
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience: 
  • Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical or Water Resources Engineering degree (Bachelor of Science).
  • Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, or ability to obtain a Texas P.E. license within six (6) months of employment.
  • Experience in capital improvement project planning or project management.
  • Experience interacting with internal and external stakeholders and customers.
  • Experience with communicating technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to proactively address challenges.
  • Experience in reviewing design submittals and construction documents for wastewater facility projects.
  • Ability to travel to more than one work location.
 
 
Pay Range
This position will be filled at one of the following levels depending upon candidate qualifications:
 
  • Graduate Engineer A: $31.65 to $39.56 per hour
  • Graduate Engineer B: $32.89 to $41.93 per hour
  • Engineer A: $34.86 to $44.45 per hour
  • Engineer B: $36.95 to $47.12 per hour
  • Engineer C: $38.78 to $50.42 per hour
 
Hours
Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
May work other hours as required with the option to telework.
