The Engineer in storm water use a broad base of knowledge of private development design, public infrastructure design, federal and state storm water quality requirements, and hydraulics and hydrology to perform essential duties for, and on behalf of, the City. These duties include collaborating with all City departments to develop and execute projects, review plans for public and private infrastructure development, design all manner of public infrastructure, assist in the development of Capital Improvement Plans and budgets, assists with compliance with the City’s Municipal Storm Sewer System Program, responsible for ensuring compliance with the City’s floodplain ordinance, manage consultant contracts, collaborate with other governmental agencies and franchise utilities on projects, review and update City ordinances, and develop engineering and design criteria.

ENGINEER             Salary Range:  $63,523 - $79,404
REQUIRED:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  2. Licensed to practice engineering in the State of Texas, or the ability to obtain licensure within six (6) months.
  3. Four (4) or more years of progressive experience in engineering.
  4. Valid State of Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

PREFERRED:           

  1. Municipal engineering experience.
  2. Modeling software experience.
  3. Long-range infrastructure planning experience.
  4. CADD and GIS experience.
  5. MS4 program development and implementation experience.
  6. Certified Floodplain Manager.



SENIOR ENGINEER            Salary Range:  $71,182 - $88,978
REQUIRED:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  2. Licensed to practice engineering in the State of Texas, or the ability to obtain licensure within six (6) months.
  3. Six (6) or more years of progressive experience in engineering.
  4. Valid State of Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
