Under general direction, plans, schedules, lays out, supervises and participates in the work of operations personnel assigned to water reclamation plants and facilities; ensures the proper, efficient, compliant, and safe operation of the treatment plants; and performs related duties as assigned.

$7,819 - $9,545 Monthly

This class is distinguished from the lower level class of Lead Water Reclamation Operator in that it is a full first line supervisor.  It can be distinguished from the higher level class of Chief Reclamation Operator by the latter classification’s supervisory and administrative responsibilities.


A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from high school or G.E.D., equivalent to five years of experience in the operations of a wastewater treatment plant; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.


A valid Class C California driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability under the City’s Vehicle Insurance Policy.

Possession of a California Wastewater Treatment Operator Grade V certificate or the ability to obtain one within 12 months of appointment.

Ability to work extended hours and/or rotating shifts, standby, including nights, weekends and holidays.
