Under supervision, performs skilled journeyman-level work in the maintenance and repair of wastewater treatment plant and pumping station equipment, gasoline, methane, and propane engines, sewage/waste grinders, sludge and grit collection mechanism, blowers, equipment controllers, and other plant and pump station equipment; operates light and heavy equipment, maintains parts inventory and equipment records; and performs related work as required.
Five (5) years of experience in equipment mechanical repair, including heavy duty industrial engines or truck repair experience and some experience in the repair of pumps and motors and fabrication experience, AND;
Successful completion of approved course work in pump theory, welding and boiler operation, A copy of transcripts/certifications must be turned in with the application by the filing deadline in order for the application to be accepted OR;
CWPCA Mechanical Technology Certification may be substituted for up to one year of the above mentioned work experience.
Licenses and Certificates: Possession of a valid Class "C" California driver's license. A Class "A" California driver's license must be obtained within the six month probationary period and Possession of necessary hand tools to accomplish maintenance and repairs of plant and pump station equipment.
