The Town of Castle Rock has an excellent opportunity for a Water Distribution System Operator II to join the Castle Rock Water Department. Under general supervision, you will perform a variety of specialized maintenance functions primarily related to water distribution at an advanced level in the operation, construction, repair, maintenance and replacement of the Town’s water, sewer and storm water lines, facilities and infrastructure. Employees in this classification perform skilled and semi-skilled work requiring a broad knowledge of maintenance techniques and requirements. Performs duties in a manner consistent with the stated values of the organization.
This position is part of the Town’s snow removal program. This will include scheduled on-call responsibilities through the winter months to remove snow using a 4-wheel drive pickup and/or heavy equipment. Snow removal shifts are typically 12 hours.
Qualifications generally include a High School diploma or GED supplemented by three (3) years related work experience, experience operating heavy equipment, basic piping techniques, underground utility repair; or any equivalent combination. A State of Colorado - Class 2 Operator Certification in Water Distribution is required; or ability to obtain within one year of employment; Class 1 in non-assigned disciplines and/or backflow certification is preferable. A valid Colorado Class A CDL driver’s license with Tank Vehicle endorsement, or ability to obtain within 6 months is required. Successful candidate must satisfactorily complete a driving record check, drug screening and criminal background check prior to commencing employment.
