Engineering Technician V - Drainage / Eligibility Register
Salary: $64,427.04 - $78,274.56 Annually
Seeking applicants to fill two (2) vacant Engineering Technician V - Drainage positions
and to create a six (6) month Eligibility Register to fill future vacancies.
The Surface Water Management Division (SWM) is hiring two motivated Engineering Technician V-Drainage. You will be part of SWM's operations and maintenance team responsible for performing field inspections on approximately 300 public and private drainage systems annually. These positions perform work mandated by State and Federal regulations to support compliance with the county's Phase I Municipal Stormwater Permit (NPDES Permit). In this role, you will provide technical inspection reports, educate and inform the public on drainage maintenance and communicate expected regulatory requirements outlined in Snohomish County Code (SCC) 7.54.

The preferred candidate will have the following experience and expertise:
For publicly owned and operated systems, the Engineering Technician V-Drainage works closely with our Road Maintenance Division crews and leads, on maintenance and repair tasks. For privately owned systems, which are regulated by the county, the Engineering Technician V-Drainage works closely with a diverse population of both commercial and residential customers including individual residents and Home Owner Associations.
