Under general direction of the Water & Power Operations Manager, supervises, assigns, directs and assumes the responsibility for maintenance, construction, repair, and operation of the water transmission and distribution systems; water treatment plants, power plant, diversion dams and infrastructure associated with the delivery of water for agricultural, domestic, landscape and municipal use; responsible for regulatory activities with other divisions and departments; and provides highly complex staff assistance to the Manager. Must be available for after-hour emergencies and participate in the Supervisor Duty rotation.
Any combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates possession of the knowledge and abilities stated above and the ability to perform the duties of the position. A typical qualifying entrance background is a Bachelor’s degree in civil or agricultural engineering or a closely related field and 5 years of progressively responsible experience involving the operations, maintenance and construction of a variety of types and sizes of water distribution systems, water treatment facilities and pumping plants, 2 years of which in a high level supervisory capacity.
Possession of a valid registration as a Civil Engineer in California qualifies for assignment to higher salary range.
