The City of Ellensburg is accepting applications for a Senior Pipeperson. An employee in this position will be expected to address operational needs, as assigned, in the maintenance, repair, and construction of the municipal water system. Will respond to customer needs and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
This is a full-time position, 40 hours / week, and is represented by Teamsters Union, Local #760.
Salary: $20.74 - $27.65/hour, 40 hrs/week plus benefits. Wage will increase 7/1/19 to $20.94 - $27.92/hour.
High School Diploma/GED or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Level One Water Certificate desirable along with flagging car, FA/CPR, trenching and shoring, and asbestos handling. The person in this position shall be required to have or obtain WDM 1 certification within 12 months of becoming eligible to obtain certification. Valid State Driver's License with CDL endorsement and insurable driving record required.
The City of Ellensburg is required by federal regulation to administer a testing program for controlled substance and alcohol use for employees required to have and maintain a CDL. This position is covered under the City of Ellensburg Substance Abuse Testing Policy.
Must have ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time; ability to work safely. Knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods, and procedures used in the water industry.
