Willows Water District, located in Centennial, CO, is accepting applications for an Operation and
Maintenance Technician. The ideal candidate would have a combination of construction, field operation and maintenance associated with water distribution systems. Must be self-motivated and directed, able to work independently with little oversight, and as part of a team. Provide customer service to District residents related to pressure, water quality, leaks, etc. Frequent engagement with contractors, consultants, etc., representing needs and interests of the
District. Must reside within 45 minutes of the District office and be available for on-call and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
Willows Water District is Denver Water Distributor and provides an average of 2.4 million gallons of potable drinking water to its customers each day. The District's system includes about
80 miles of pipe, ranging in size from six inches to 30 inches, 6,000 service lines and more than
600 fire hydrants. Treated water quality is monitored by extensive testing through Denver
Water to meet Colorado and federal Clean Drinking Water standards. Willows Water District utilizes an Asset Management System (AMS) that serves as an effective management tool for the operation, maintenance of the District's water facilities.
Water Distribution Class 1 is desired but not required. Must be able to achieve Class 1 distribution certificate within 1 year.
Technical education in plumbing, mechanical, electrical, or control and experience directly related to water supply, water resources, sanitary engineering, or public utilities beneficial but not required.
Salary Range and Benefits:
$20.00 - $30.42/hr. depending on experience. Excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long term disability and employer contribution to a retirement plan provided. Actual compensation will depend on qualification and years of experience.
